Centre Facilities

Modern facilities and equipment to decipher the past.

Since the establishment of the Field School in 1991, a new Archaeology Centre and Acommodation premises have been constructed in Dooagh, a village at the western end of the island.

The Centre houses a Lecture Room, Library, Laboratory, Drawing and Computer Rooms, an Office and a small outside garden. The Computer Room houses a bank of networked computers with top of the range computer programmes such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS, Photoshop and Illustrator. Broadband connection is available and WiFi was installed in 2011.
 

The Archaeological Field School's infrastructure includes the following essential facilities:
- Modern laboratory
- Lecture room
- Computer network
- Study area
- Library with wide range of Books and Journals
-Site Office and Tool Shed
- Dormitory accommodation block

Achill Archaeological Field School is the ideal institution to offer international students a comprehensive program dealing with Irish Prehistoric and Historic archaeology.
